This lecture will address how new technology is not only changing music culture and consumption norms, but also challenging legal standards such as the balance between copyright and fair use. This class discussion will explore the legal issues with music streaming sites we love like Spotify, Soundcloud and YouTube. We will also explore copyright infringement questions regarding live social media streaming at music concerts and festivals.
