Well....today isn't starting off to be a winner. The bus is so broken that we've had to call multiple mechanics out to fix the problem. I should probably say problems because it wasn't just the original problem that was broken by the computer not communicating with the engine it was also that the gas peddle stopped working. That then lead them to realize there was a component that was rusted out, so they ended up jerry-rigging it enough that we could get on the road and make it to the show. Hopefully, it will make it long enough to last us the rest of the tour.

Today the show was in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire. The venue was pretty unique. My position for the day was merchandise but this venue has workers that sell our merchandise for us in order to get a larger percentage back in their pockets. Therefore, I did not “work” the merch table during the show. I did load in with Tessa and Nohea but we did not even have to set anything up! We brought the merchandise to the area, counted in, and then handed it over to the venue.

I woke up in the same exact parking space that I was in when I fell asleep. In Westbury, NY. We ended up sitting there until a little after 12 pm. It was inconvenient but was a good taste of the unpredictability of life on the road. We all hung out to make the ride go by as fast as possible because the air seemed to stop working as well.

I am obsessed with today. I woke up in the parking lot of the Theatre at Westbury. We were in Westbury, New York. I had been looking forward to this venue the entire trip so far because it is different from the others. The stage is a circle in the middle of the audience and it rotates. Going into today I knew that this venue was a strong union house and was really tough on letting us participate on load in and load out, but to our surprise, we were able to help.

Today I woke up and we were traveling to Glenside, Pennsylvania. My position for the day was merchandise. While we were waiting to unload the trailer I decided to work out in the back of the bus. Nothing too crazy, but enough to make myself feel better about how much we eat haha.

SUCH A GOOD DAY. Today we left our hotel and got to Englewood, New Jersey for the show. Today my position was front of house with JC. Once we got to the theater, we loaded in and got straight to work. I felt more comfortable with taking control of certain situations. Josh made comments to me that he was very impressed with how I remembered what to do with the wedges. I went to JC and checked how he set up everything.

First day off! Or shall I say “day off”? Today was a day off from the tour, but we will filled it with plenty of adventures. I woke up to our bus being broken down but luckily we were in the same exact place we were when I fell asleep: outside of the theater in Northampton, MA. We went to Dunkin Donuts in the morning then eventually our bus started working again.

Today I slept in until 11 and it felt AMAZING. I woke up when we were pulling into the venue. We spent the day in Northampton, Massachusetts. For load in we were able to get a lot of experience carrying everything inside today. That was exciting for us because we have been wanting to carry everything.

Today I woke up as we rolled into town in Lynn, Massachusetts. I was intrigued to see if this theater was similar to the other ones we have been to and how I would like my merchandise job. I am familiar with working with merchandise due to my past internship at the Bluebird Café, so I felt comfortable with this task. I was comfortable but knew that like with anything, there is always more room to learn.

Today was yet another great day on the Happy Together Tour. We drove in the morning from Tarrytown, New York to New Brunswick, New Jersey. We helped load in and set up the stage more today than yesterday. I am starting to familiarize myself with everything and that feels good. We had some time off so the seven of us (Michelle joined the group) walked around town for a bit. It was cool to see all of the cute shops that are near the state theatre.

Today we FINALLY got on the bus. I was so excited and wide-eyed to see what this was all going to be like. The six girls, Kayla, Maria, Savannah, Rachel, and Nohea (and myself) all gathered on the bus for a fun ride with Lucas and our bus drivers Dave and Earl. We got on the bus, claimed our bunks, and then learned bus etiquette. From not going #2 on the bus EVER, to where all the food goes, and more, it was interesting to learn the basics of what it is like to live on the bus.
