The Nashville Filmmakers Guild and Tennessee Entertainment Commission present a Production Assistant Training Intensive Workshop.
WHEN: June 8th, 9am – 5pm
WHERE: The Backlot, 1015 W Kirkland Ave, Ste 301, Nashville, TN 37216
During this full day workshop, you will participate in an intense hands-on training from experienced entertainment professionals. Upon finishing the workshop you will be added to a certified contact list that is released to Nashville Filmmakers Guild members and working Producers to help get you hired and on set. Radios training will be provided and lunch tickets are available to add to your order.

- Radio and surveillance mic protocol
- Set protocol (do’s and don’ts)
- How the A.D. team functions
- Production language
- Gear and supplies
- Other crew functions
- The Office P.A. (Sides, Schedules, Call Sheets)
- Film and TV versus commercials/videos/low budget P.A.
- How to anticipate the needs of your production
- Lock-ups, Call outs, Daily and Nightly duties
- Where to find production jobs and navigating an industry career path
- Preparing your resume
About Your Instructors:
Kyler Wilson is a filmmaker based out of Nashville, TN with over 10 years of experience from production assistant to 1st Assistant Director, Director, and Producer. His diverse range of experiences has provided him with a deep understanding of filmmaking. His honed communication skills and friendly curiosity make Kyler an ideal guide for young filmmakers and PAs alike.
Meghan Wiggins is a Nashville-based 2nd Assistant Director with over 8 years of experience from production assistant to 2nd AD in film and commercials as well as a 1st AD for many music videos. She has a passion for creativity and loves organization. Meghan became a mother this year and is learning how to balance work and motherhood. She is looking forward to sharing her experiences and motivating future filmmakers!
Sarah Haas is a Nashville-based Production Manager and Line Producer. She has 10 years of experience on set including doing her fair share of lock-ups, office PA duties, and coffee runs. Sarah believes that production assistants are the lynchpin of all projects and that everyone benefits from information-sharing from top to bottom of the call sheet.
