Happy Together Tour
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience the world of tour management, live production, and what a life on the road is like. Students will work with touring artists and crew professionals in the areas of tour management, stage management, audio engineering, tour accounting, and merchandise sales. Tour duties will be in addition to their continued learning each day during the process of load-in, setup, tear-down and load-out. Educational avenues outside of the classroom provide networking opportunities with all of the supporting organizations while gaining an understanding of the revenue flow from music consumer to touring performer.
This three credit course will be limited to 10 students. The selection process will be highly competitive based primarily on classification and academic performance as indicated by GPA. Rising Senior/Junior level students will be given priority; student involvement, professional resume, and a potential interview may be considered as necessary. Students with a student affairs or academic infraction may be eliminated from the application pool. Students who complete the online application and are selected for the experience are committing to a $2700 course fee which covers lodging, transportation, and most meals (not all). This fee is in addition to discounted university tuition (you pay for one credit hour and get three!) as well as the summer session student fee. Fees for the next session have not been set.
